Hugo Salles
Hugo Salles is a writer, lawyer, and executive. His books on Buddhist philosophy for everyday life, published in English and Portuguese, sold more than a thousand copies in their first two months, have reached readers in 13 countries, and hold a 4.7-star average on Amazon.
A lifelong geek, he has always needed to understand how systems actually work. In Buddhist philosophy he found a tradition that has spent more than twenty-five centuries studying the human mind: its habits, its fears, its attachments, and its capacity to change.
He holds a postgraduate specialization in Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence for Public Administration and is completing a second one, in Neuroscience, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness, at PUC, the Pontifical Catholic University in Brazil. As part of his studies, he has translated a selection of Buddhist sutras into Portuguese, drawing on canonical texts, established translations, and traditional commentaries.
For more than twenty years, he has led teams and projects where deadlines are tight, decisions are hard, and the pressure is real. That is where these teachings were put to the test.
In The Technologies of the Awakened Mind series, he presents the teachings, symbols, and practices associated with Tara, Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, Vajrasattva, and Vajrapani as methods for transforming the mind, applied to fear, attachment, confusion, guilt, and anger.
His books rest on one simple principle: a teaching earns its place when you examine it, practice it, and test it in your own life, not because of who is teaching it.
He lives in Brasília, Brazil, writes the mentedesperta.txt newsletter, and collects He-Man action figures.
