This book can change how you see strength and gentleness. It’s not about being loud or aggressive; it’s about setting boundaries and acting with courage, even when it’s hard.

Skeptical of anything calling itself ancient wisdom repackaged for stressed professionals. This one earned it.

The main takeaway is that you don't need to become someone else to find peace. Your present form is already enough.

I really liked the way it talks about guilt without making it about beating yourself up forever.

Manjushri made me really think about the difference between what is actually happening and the story your mind creates about what is happening.

I also liked that it doesn’t pretend you’re going to completely stop overthinking. The goal is to catch yourself doing it sooner, spend less time stuck there, and move on with your life.

About the Series
Why “technologies”?
The series treats figures of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy as what tradition always intended them to be: mental technologies, methods of transformation. Each volume isolates a specific mental pattern — fear, attachment, confusion, guilt — and translates centuries of contemplative practice into applicable steps, in clear and direct language. Method first. Meaning later, if the reader wishes to dig deeper.
Substack
I’m a writer and a compulsive reader, and what I most want to understand is how the mind works: why we repeat the same patterns, and how old and new knowledge can help us live with more clarity. I bring philosophy, science, behavior and contemplative practice together in a way that is accessible, critical and usable in everyday life. I publish a new essay on Substack every week.
